About Us

Jen Keeler is the founder of Yoga Momma and co-director of the Phinney Yoga House. She is a mother of an active boy, is a Level 1 Certified Yoga Therapist with Integrative Yoga Therapy, and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) certified with Yoga Alliance.

She first came to yoga as an active woman seeking more balance and peace in her life. Only after sustaining a serious injury did she discover the full benefits yoga has to offer. For several years, she practiced a blend of Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga in a gym setting and while it was physically enjoyable, she longed to go deeper. During pregnancy she took prenatal yoga and committed to teach and share this amazing practice with others. Yoga healed her back, brought her balance, and during pregnancy brought her closer to her growing baby. It helped her with labor (all 20 hours of it!) and has been a great renewal since giving birth - bringing her postpartum body and mind to balance. Jen has a great appreciation for the physical and emotional challenges of parenthood, and loves providing an opportunity for moms to re-connect with themselves and their bodies. She is passionate and incredibly grateful for Yoga Momma - this gratitude serves as her foundation for leading every practice. She continually strives to deepen her learning and deepen the experience of yoga for each of her students.

Suzette Birrell is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) certified with Yoga Alliance in Hatha yoga and our Lead Prenatal Teacher. Her specialty of Prenatal and Postnatal training came from renown yoga teachers Colette Crawford and Janice Carfield.

Suzette began teaching Yoga after leaving the corporate world for a more balanced lifestyle.  She brings a sense of nurturing and support to her students in a safe gentle environment. Parent of two adult children, Suzette provides guidance as well as strength: mentally, physically and spiritually to new mothers who are traveling the path of pregnancy and motherhood. Her Prenatal and Parent & Baby classes are full of joy and laughter, and encourage sharing between the students to build community.

Suzette’s love of the life around her is reflected in her teaching style and in her abundant garden she shares with her husband Jim of 37 years. Suzette also does garden coaching and is a active volunteer in the Seattle garden community.

Tricia Moon is a mother of two young children, our Yoga for Kids teacher, and the founder of Centered Family Yoga. She feels blessed to be able to combine her two passions of yoga and teaching. She is a certified special education teacher and has over 10 years of experience in yoga and working with children of all ages. While teaching English in Korea, she began implementing yoga into her classes and quickly realized that taking 'yoga breaks' helped students to refocus and re-energize. She now is certified by YogaKids International and teaches yoga in schools, homes, and community centers around the Seattle area.

Tricia's classes bring out children's natural curiosity and sense of adventure. She believes that exploration and discovery are magnificent ways to promote confidence and self-esteem in kids. Her classes foster a sense of awareness and respect for oneself and others. By using her knowledge of various styles of yoga, her sense of humor, and understanding and love of children she is able to create a fun and educational class for her students.

Mollie Owens Connolly (RYT 200) was introduced to yoga over 13 years ago by a friend and was quickly attracted to the beauty of the practice.  She is the proud mother of two young boys and attended Prenatal Yoga as a student with Yoga Momma. She experienced firsthand how prenatal practice helps physically, mentally and emotionally during pregnancy, labor, and birth. She loved taking the time for introspection that yoga allows during a time of such change in the body. She looks forward to working with other women experiencing this monumental event.

Mollie is also the founder of Silver Sage Yoga teaching yoga to seniors. In her work there, she sees the many benefits for the body and mind as well as the longevity a life of yoga brings. Prior to becoming a yoga teacher and mother, Mollie danced professionally both in Seattle and her native Kansas City.

Yoga Momma evolved out of a an understanding of the challenges faced by all mothers, a love of yoga, and a strong desire to serve and support women. We serve women and families in our community through our passion for yoga, helping them to build connections, optimize their health, and by extension create healthy families. All teachers have received advanced training in prenatal and postnatal yoga and health, or to work specifically with kids. We approach yoga holistically to include what we feel is the best from many traditions, and do so with an open curiosity. Our practices integrate the physical, emotional, spiritual, (and playful!) aspects of yoga resulting in a greater understanding of ourselves. Read on to learn more about Yoga Momma teachers.
